Yous've Come a Long Fashion, Baby is the 2d studio album past Fatboy Slim, a project of English electronic music producer Norman Cook. It was first released on 19 Oct 1998 in the United Kingdom by Skint Records and a 24-hour interval subsequently in the United States by Astralwerks. Cook recorded and produced the album at his habitation studio in Brighton, known as the Business firm of Love,[2] [3] using an Atari ST computer, Creator software, and floppy disks.[4] The photograph on the album cover was originally taken at the 1983 Fat Peoples Festival in Danville, Virginia; for the Northward American release, the album cover was changed to an image of shelves stacked with records.

Y'all've Come a Long Way, Baby proved to be Cook's global breakthrough anthology,[2] peaking at number one on the UK Albums Chart and number 34 on the US Billboard 200.[5] Praised past critics for its sound and fashion, the album brought international attention to Cook, earning him a Brit Accolade in 1999,[half dozen] and was later certified four times platinum past the BPI and platinum by the RIAA. 4 singles were released from the anthology: "The Rockafeller Skank", "Gangster Tripping", "Praise Y'all", and "Right Here, Correct At present", all of which peaked within the top x on the Great britain Singles Chart.[vii] "Build It Up – Tear It Downwards" was besides released as a promotional unmarried.[ citation needed ]

Title and artwork [edit]

The title You've Come a Long Fashion, Baby was derived from a marketing slogan for Virginia Slims cigarettes.[8] The previously released "The Rockafeller Skank" unmarried liner notes revealed that a once tentative title for the album had been Permit's Hear It for the Little Guy. Conceived by Red Design, the album's chief cover art features an obese immature man dressed in a T-shirt bearing the words "I'm #1 so why attempt harder" while property a cigarette in his left paw.[9] [10] The original photograph was taken at the 1983 Fatty People's Festival in Danville, Virginia and provided by the Rex Features photo library.[11] Despite a series of inquiries, the man has not been identified.[12] Additional photography for the You've Come a Long Manner, Baby liner notes was provided past Simon Thornton.[9] The cover prototype was changed in North America to an image of shelves stacked with records.
